I worked a park field this afternoon for a little over 2 hours, but the park was being stingy with its silver. I did pick up two 1800s coins though, an 1891 Indian Head cent and a 1866 Italian 10 Centesimi. They sure held up better than the other coppers I have dug up from that field.

We had a huge amount of immigrants around here in the factories. I've found some of the Italian and French coins from that era. They always throw you off when the come out of a hole  They make for a nice collection though! You got some good targets for a short hunt.

I found one of them last year at an old church. They must be bronze to hold up so well. Nice finds!

Think about it! That coin may have been in somebody's pocket when they left their home and sailed to America! How cool is that!!!
