A Few Pieces of Silver...

Hey diggers,
Yeah, I copied the title of Tony's latest thread! Probably just a coincidence... :envious:

Did some door knocking and hit 3 different yards. Two were flops but the 3rd one had some goodies. Got 3 silvers which bumps me up to 32 for the year. Got my second 1940's coin spill of the year. Both spills contained a war nickel--what are the odds of that? Thanks for looking, Dave.

What a great hunt! Some really nice items there. I've danced around the dates of a war nickel with a few finds, but never hit one with the right year.

The coins and Cracker Jack token are really neat, but I think my favorite is the Alfred's ice skate pin. What a cool piece of Americana!

You didn't mention the Canadian coin. What is it?

Thanks Tony, I think I have enough of those Cracker Jack coins to join the mystery club now! The big greenie is a 1899 Canadian Large Cent. It was a perfect 12-38 at 6 inches. The war nickel+2 wheaties rang up as 11-29 at 3 inches deep. I REALLY though it was going to be a pulltab! The Cracker Jack token rang up as 09-48, 11-47, 08-48 at 7 inches or so. I was thinking BIG silver! Of course I tried to do a live dig and got the jinx! Have a good one, Dave.

Congrats on the finds. I too was wondering why there was no mention of the Canadian and the IH. I don't think my machine has ever been wrong when it says there is a pull tab.
