Hi US of A !
Greetz form the other side of the big pond. Did some hunting last weeks. Hereby 2 nice coins. The first is an Angelgroat, silver and minted in 1260 AD. Nice mediėval coin ! On the very same spot I“ve found a so called Spaanse Mat (Spanish). Looks like it has been beat up, but slaves cut these coin to a certain weight. Its from the 1600's. It's my second one. Nice to find such evidence from Spanish soldiers, they have been here 500 years ago.

Wow! :shocked04:
A medieval silver coin that is over 750 years old! It boggles the mind! :notworthy:
It's difficult to even imagine what life was like for the person who lost that coin. What an incredible find!
The Spanish piece is very nice also.
Huge congrats and thanks for sharing these finds with us, Johan! :perfect10:

Fantastic finds Johan. Curious about where you like to detect. Do you focus in areas with a known history, focus on public parks etc. or private property? I'm just trying to grasp where you like to start when searching for relics that old.

Hi Digger,
Tnx for your message ! To answer your question: I Always focus in areas with a known history. Especially on the higher grounds, tactical higher grounds I would say. Here in Hollland / the Netherlands we have so called "terpen". Higher grounds exists since there have been people here, for at least 2000 years. These grounds protected them from the sea. We live below sealevel, as you know. I rearly detect on playgrounds, always on acres, framergrounds. Because big city's dumped their gtrash and rubbish for ages. I like to detect near rivers etc.
