First Silver of the year

Digger Don

My son and I decided to go over to an old park near our home today. When we got there, it was loaded with people enjoying the fantastic weather. Because of that, we decided not to hunt there today. As we were pulling away, I noticed a couple standing in front of their old Victorian house. I figured what the heck, the worst they could do is say no. After talking to them a few minutes, I got permission and was told the house was built in 1904.
We hunted an area about 8 ft. X 30 ft. for a little over an hour. We dug a 1905 Barber dime, 5 wheats, 25 pennies ( 21 copper & 4 zinc )a junk ring, an arrow head charm, 3 keys and some clad. Not Bad For Us !!
I've always been timid about asking strangers if we can hunt their property. NOT ANY MORE !!!

Good job, Don! It looks like you guys had a great hunt there. Congrats on the Barber Dime, that's awesome! You picked a beautiful day to get your first silver coin of the year. May it be the first of many this year!

:congrats:

Thanks Tony. I think I'm starting to hear ( and dig ) more of those Iffy signals.
I see you had another great day. congrats to you

Love to see Barbers posted. :congrats:on asking that couple for permission and scoring your 1st silver of the year.

Wow. The barber seems the cleanest out of all the coins you found. And it seems the oldest. I gotta get my experience asking people to hunt on property.

:cheering::cheering:congrats on that first silver for the year Don :cheering::cheering:

Those iffy signals can pay off sometimes. I dig them all of the time. You two did fantastic. :congrats: I'm not sure if you would have done as well at a hunted park. Glad those people were there to guide you to a new destination.

Congrats on your first silver. It's a great way to start your year off by digging a barber! I remember when I started digging sketchy signals and it does pay off sometimes, although you'll dig a lot more nails.

Nice barber dime Don!!
I've done a lot of cold knocking my time and it's really paid off for me over the years..
I'm always a good sport about it... Even if they say no!!
Congrats on the hunt... And even a bigger congrats on getting up the nerve to ask for permission!!
