Went back to the "Potato" house spot yesterday and just as I got going my cousin shows up and I quit detecting. Not for any problem, but I can't detect while someone is trying to talk to me. I managed to find these 3 wheats a '50 D; '51 S & a '1? looks to be a "D", but couldn't make it out!

I'm with you Otis. I usually stop detecting when people want to visit and since I try to be a good steward of the hobby I will wait until they leave before I restart. It is hard to be sociable while wearing headphones.

Nice wheats, usually a good sign that some silver is hiding there also. Yeah, most of us stop detecting when a conversation is trying to take place. Wear some camo, maybe your cousin wont see ya....lol

 Hey cousin, like you lots but...... I"M DETECTING!!!!!!! :hystericallaugh: I'm with you too, can't concentrate when someone is talking to me. That wheat almost looks like a 1915. Nice to see someone hunting.

I agree with this group of comments: feels rude not to talk to someone, but I can't concentrate and really "listen" for the good tones. Fortunately, my hunts are almost always solo, with the exception of my loyal dog-friend. She goes with me nearly 100% of the time. And she never interrupts and occassionally helps dig!

Yeah, most of us stop detecting when a conversation is trying to take place.

Al just pretends he doesn't hear me and keeps on detecting......

Some good winter finds...I'd love to dig a wheatie these days
