Today was sunny and (relatively) warm so I went back to the local park to see if I could locate the place where an old farm house once stood. I left the lawn area and went into the woods where I've found some old metal and a 1947 nickel that made me think I was close.
Today my first hit after only about 10 seconds revealed a 1940 nickel . I started there and fanned out. Within 90 minutes I had located two old gardening tools, quite a distance apart, at about 1' depth. So I'm sure I was close to the house site, perhaps in an old garden. Then, I ran out of time again. AGH! More cold weather coming in this week, so more waiting, but I am keen on finding that old house site.
