Today I opted to detect at a Connecticut park instead of one of the local sites. I had expected the park to be very busy seeing as it was turning out to be a beautiful sunny day, but it ended up not being as crowded as I had anticipated. What I dreaded most was seeing the ATV users racing up and down the park, but thankfully they were absent today. Anyway, by the end of the hunt I had found six silver coins, several wheat cents, and one silver ring.

This is a pretty one.

An old religious pendant. I need to clean it up a bit.

Some of these crusty wheat cents may clean up well enough.

wow angel...still killin the silver i see ...good job man!. nice to see you're still rackin them up. i look forward ro seeing more finds from you. seems that e-trac is still smokin huh?
Wow, that ring is a beaut! Angel, I must confess, you post many many items that I sure would love to see pics of cleaned up! But I understand that digging 10,000,000 silvers a year likely doesn't leave much time for cleaning. Maybe we can get a squad of volunteers over for cleaning duty. I'd sign up just to get a peek at your piles of treasure! Congrats as always on your great digs.

Sweet Amethyst ring :shocked04: Gorgeous cut. I'm still in shock on how the trash has masked silver all these years. I can see not hitting the deep silver with a trash layer above, but the amount of Roosevelts that are still there is amazing! In a way we are lucky that they were not all picked earlier or what would we do today :thinkingabout:

10,000,000? :shocked04::lol: I have been getting lazy about cleaning the rest of the finds, but I'll get to them one of these winters.
Thanks, Z!

I know what you mean. The Roosevelt dimes weren't deep, but the amount of trash at these parks has been hiding them well. We better get to them while we still can.

Man, that is one ugly merc Angel
But a great haul of silver as always. It does amaze me how you keep pulling more and more out of that hunted out park.
A beautiful ring too :)

Congrats on another successful hunt. Like I've said before I'd be stoked to find all the wheats you do, the silver count is just over the top bonus!!! :thumbsup01:

I haven't counted them. :embarrassed: I just toss them into the 'finds' bucket for a future look-see. I have accumulated a good amount over the years though, especially from shallow water detecting, like the ones shown below which I picked up one day while detecting a pond. :)

Tana, they get tossed into the 'finds' bucket (the size of a dump truck  ) which is where everything goes that is not a silver coin. :poke:
Since I have known Angel, over the course of several years, I know I have seen him post hundreds of those medallions. Especially when he was shallow water hunting most of the time.

What is it about finding them in the water? Kinda like throwing a penny in a fountain for good luck? Maybe spiritual common practice to throw into water....
Hmmm or perhaps people losing them in the swimming hole :thinkingabout:

No it is not. It's the size of... well... a bucket. :dontknow:

That's exactly it, they have been lost at swimming holes over decades. My primary targets were not the religious pendants though, it was the gold and silver. The following were found the same day at that pond - 15 rings, plus a bunch of old silver coins. I've been waiting for the water level to go down again but the amount of rain we have had these past three years has kept the water level much too high at the old swimming holes I want to hit.

Nice rings! I'm more drawn to those older ones in the back- they just scream 'dayz of ancient times'
