Got out for a 3hr hunt this afternoon. I was back at my CW site where I've dug a "C" Cuff/Kepi/Vest Button as well as a USMC button. This is a tough place to hunt as it's loaded with prickers & bayberry bushes, so I can only get to it in the fall, winter or early spring before they grow more. I'm thinking of bringing some pruners next fall & really go to town on this place.
Anyhow the ground was nice & mushy, except a few places where the frost level was still down a 1-2".
I decided to try out my 6x10 DD coil here seeing I've hit this place pretty good with the 10"DD. To date my 6x10 has not found any coins yet but Today was the day.
1st target of the day was my 1st IH (1864) of the season. Didn't have a 64 yet so now all I'm missing is an 1860 & 1865 to complete the war years.
Wandered around some more without much luck and was getting time to go home. Headed to the far back site of the hole to work my way back to the car & got a solid 75 at 2" and was hoping this was going to be my 1st LC of 2014 :crossfingers:.
Sure enough out she popped & I believe it's an 1803 (my 2nd). After that turned off the machine & headed back to the car with a smile on my face.:happydance01:
