Hey guys.
I am a jewelry hunter, mostly, but even a blind squirrel can find a nut once in awhile.
These are my best coins I came across in 2013.
I now have a new F70 so the goal for 2014 is many more older and better coins and much more silver.
I found a merk that looked like someone got it from the mint and then dropped it.
Found in a park and if you can believe it only about 1/4" deep.
My first V nickel that I thought was just a slug but I could barely make out a silhouette of a head after looking at it closely.
2 Franklin halves that were found within 10 minutes on one hunt.
These 2 coins were probably lost by a member of my own MD club a few years ago when they had a special hunt at this same picnic pavilion site and the winning prizes were silver halves.
His lost, my gain.
All the coins above were found with the F2 and the sniper coil.
A silver quarter that I just recently found walking around some woods in an old part of another park...the first silver coin found with my new F70.
My favorite coin of all and my oldest ever is this 1865 2 cent that I found when our MD club got permission for a special hunt in October at an old estate that is off limits and totally historical and for 2 hours only.
Even though we had many members at this hunt only 2 coins were found that day, mine and a large cent that was so wrecked you could not even see the date.
I was using my Vaquero at the time.
Fantastic shape for a coin this old and one of my favorite finds of all to this date.
