Hi All,
A while back I found a button that had "Liberty Property" on it. Dan said it was from our fledgling navy during the revolution. Yesterday I found another one in the field across from where I found the first one. This one is even more beat up than the first one :(
The low grass and soil moisture conspired to pop targets. The fatty is in passable condition but the crotal still has its original luster!
I wonder what a castanoga bell was doing in the middle of a hay field? I usually find those on old roads or in barn foundations. Also found the remnants of a copper. Thanks, Drew

Nice stuff Drew! I've only dug one intact petal bell like that. Does it have a number on it?
Good of you to dig the obligatory reed plate too.:hystericallaugh:

Thank you guys! Yeah Longhair, it's a 1. The smallest I've found, but in really nice condition. Aren't those harmonica plates EVERYWHERE? They drive me nuts, along with the knobs.

Very decent looking 1862 Fatty, and the crotal bell is a beauty! Very nice hunt indeed!

:congrats:

Cool relics drew. Crotals are always fun to dig especially if the makers initials are on them.
