George and I did our usual friday hike into the woods in search of history , it was a windy cold day and we even endured some unexpected snow flurries :shocked04:verreaction: .

no coins for me today but i did get an assortment of relics , about 9 buttons , a cool iron strap hinge , some spoon parts both iron and pewter, a couple of musket round-ball , an iron heel plate.

I was sure it was a complete pocket watch but i was wrong

the needle compartment was completely dry but i added some water and freed the needle and it works pretty well :happydance01:
but this was a nice surprise , i recovered one of these very early on this year . its an artillerist's plume holder from and early 1800's to 1825 military shako helmet.
