Hey sfox54 it looks like an early 1900's hunting style button maybe off a blazer jacket or vest .

still working on the cleaning but i am now able to make out the back mark...it says...treble stand. extra rich with this new information i found that its made in england from 1830-1850 heres the link if you look click on specials and look at number 12 http://www.goldenagebuttons.co.uk/speciality.html
