Dan and I decided to revisit last Fridays cellar hole. It was good to both of us, so we wanted to see what another trip would bring us. I knew it wasn't going to be as good as last week, as I got 4 coppers from this spot. I again found 4 coins but not what I expected. What a difference a week makes. lol Today's take.... 6 buttons, a 1926 dog tag, thimble, musket ball, a nice pocket watch winder, some other scraps and oh yeah... the 4 coins - a silver Washington, 2 Mercs and a dateless wheat cent rofl All great colonial coins :peace:  What a picture perfect weather day we had. 7 hours of exercise in the woods thumbsup01

Are you sure you weren't in Illinois? That almost looks like one of my hunts. lol

Hey, maybe I will find four colonial coppers when I go detecting here in Illinois tomorrow! :thinkingabout: lol

Still, you can't beat 7 hours of being outside in the woods in perfect weather. :smitten:

I hate finding 20th century coins at a colonial site. Might coin drops from some loggers? At least you didn't get skinned. How did Dan make out?

i made out about the same (about 8 buttons and even more shot gun shells lol lol) minus the modern change  . we must have hiked about 5 or 6 miles though and i needed the exercise :embarrassed:

I feel your pain on the colonials....but you got some nice relics and a good hunt.

Such finds at a colonial site that produced some nice coppers leaves me befuddled. Even though I don't hunt relics that must be frustrating. :congrats: on the hunt and all the keepers.

While they weren't colonials...it's still a good hunt with some silver to boot. :pirate:
