Hi Gang!
It's been a long time since I've been here let alone been able to go out detecting. Without going into details, I'll just say that I recently found reason to stop wearing my wedding ring. It's been rough, but being single again (or at least moving in that direction) is the smartest thing I've done in years. So, with some time on a Sunday afternoon, I dug out the ACE250 and wandered over to the park across the street from my new home. I found the usual mixture of clad and pull tabs when I got a tone that didn't sound quite like a pull tab or a nickel and I was thinking I had found a small pocket spill of assorted coins. But instead, out popped a wedding band and I could tell by the weight that it was a nice one. It's been well worn and has a lot of small scratches, but tomorrow I'm taking it to a jeweler to get it polished because it is clearly marked on the inside with.
Tiffany & Co PT950 It is a size 9, 4.5 mm wide.
Anyone have any suggestions as to determining its value? I don't have the weight yet. But I should be able to post pics and details tomorrow.

I'm assuming PT is for platinum? Can't wait to see the ring. It sounds like a real nice find. Oh and being single for a while did turn out well for me, so it may end up being a good thing for you too.

Big congrats on finding the platinum ring :congrats:
Sounds like a nice ring! Melt value would be around $300 assuming a weight of around 7 or 8 grams. Congrats!

Very nice find WTG. I'm pretty sure that anything Tiffany has got some added value so I would do my research on it. Who knows you might have something really rare. Good luck and keep us posted.

Here it is after a bit of polishing by Richard, a jeweler. It's not rare, but it is too nice to melt according to Richard. It weighed in at 9.8 grams. By far, the most valuable item I've found.

I'd say that worked out well for you thumbsup01 One find gets you a brand new bike. Not a bad investment for about 112 hours work :clapping: Sounds like a great way to start the day.

First off, Welcome to the forum Juan!
As for your Platinum ring, at todays spot prices of $1157, at 16.6 grams, would get you $586.62 U.S. dollars!
I don't think you meant grains, but if by some chance you did, at 16.6 grains, would bring you $38.01.
Was this a metal detecting find?
