View Full Version : Big Silver in the Woods
It's getting harder to get out for evening hunts after dinner now that it is dark by 7 or so. So today I got in a quick hunt before dinner on my way home from work. I stopped at a wooded spot that gave up a great silver spill earlier this summer. No old coins today, but it was all worth it when what I was sure was another can top signal proved to be a nice sterling fork. According to the link below the pattern is from the 1930's. It's always nice to dig a big piece of silver like this!
Happy hunting...

I was hoping that you would try that site again. Interesting how the utensils that you find are silver and the ones that I find are only silver plated. You must live in a better neighborhood then I do lol
Glad to see that you managed to get some hunting after work as it gets dark so quickly now there's not much time to do it after dinner.
Continued good :detecting:

Nope, just clad, it had me going for a second when I dug it though.
I'm in the Rochester area.
Thanks for the comments everyone!

I have noticed that quarters from 1965 to maybe 1967 or 1968 take on the same look as silver in some sites. At first I thought it was just my imagination but it's happened too many times with just those dates. I don't know if they were doing something different to mint those coins so I have no real proof to back my observation.
i love seeing silver , no matter what shape its in . congrats |:cheering: |:cheering:

That's like 10 dimes worth of silver lol I'd take that any day. It's an older than I would have guessed it to be. Glad you dug them large signals, not all of them are cans.
