This morning I went back to the same area that I hunted at the ball park yesterday. I figured there might be some more deep silver in the area and sure enough there was, a nice Walking Liberty Half. That big silver really made my day for sure and it's in really good condition with a lot of detail and everything. I also did manage to find a few wheats, some clad, a ring and odds and ends. It's not very often that I dig a coin this deep and if it had been a quarter instead I might not have been able to pick it up. It VDI a good 87 when I sweeped the coil right in the center, just one inch one way or the other the signal would disappear I would honestly say it was no less than a foot in the ground and probably more like 13 inches in my opinion. I never really paid much attention to what the detector was telling me as far a depth goes but I just knew it had to be something good. After I dug a huge flap it screwed up the soil matrix and didn't read the same at all but it still read like something I would dig. It was laying right on the clay.
