I hurt my arm throwing a football about 20 feet and was sidelined for a week or two. Getting old is no picnic. Started back in yesterday and found a nice site that should produce plenty.
I walked around for two hours yesterday following a bunch of walls. There are so many walls that there should have been a hole, but I just couldn't locate one. I went back today for an hour and pulled target after target, but still no hole. I wonder if they burned the place and took all the nails. Targets were every 10 or 15 feet. For every non-ferrous there might have been two or three iron signals. I haven't cleaned the dirt out of the crotal but it is a 4 holer without any cracks. The matron is undateable. The dog tag is a 1916. Those people in the 19-teens were fastidious about dog tags. I find a lot of those years. Thanks, as always.

lol Had the same thing happen to me a couple of years ago. Mine was when I threw a Frisbee at a family picnic. Whipped that thing and the second I let it go, I was done. :girlcry: Took a while to heal  You had a pretty good hunt at the new site. Even if you don't find the hole, just keep doing what you are doing. Where is a picture of that crusty Matron anyways? :thinkingabout:

Glad you're feeling better, it's always a bummer to be sidelined... :-\

While all your detector finds are great (looking forward to more than bottle caps myself) I REALLY like the glass. Were those surface, or the product of digging targets? :)

Thanks everyone. :)
Yeah Icountback, the bottles were 100 yds apart, half out of the ground. They are a pain to get out of the woods. :-\ No dump associated with them ::huh::
I went back today and made no progress at the site. I was scared out of my mind though....
As the sun went down behind a hill I was alone, working a skunking....the temps dropping and the owls starting their ungodly screeching...I spot a 300 yr old oak tree. These are seldom seen around here. It's on a steep slope so I have to hug the tree to get around it. As I move around it I come face to face with this....

That is a very strange find Drew. I am assuming it is a Grey Fox as they will take to a tree more readily than a Red Fox. Next time you find yourself in that area, you might want to see if that fox has a trap on its foot. I can't think of any other reason why it might get snagged like that. :dontknow: I suppose someone could have shot it and placed it there also.

Maybe it was that ferocious Monkey sloth they caught on film last month that killed the fox. Not safe to go in the woods anymore. :shocked04:
