Hey all. Just thought I would drop a line. I live in Southern Arizona. Havnt been MD'ing for very long but am in up to my neck and enjoying it. My brother-in-law introduced me to this great hobby and I havnt looked back since. My current and first personal detector is a Titan 200:blackeye:D-Pro. I bought this maching because at first I didnt want to lay out a hugh chunk of cash until I was certain this was what I liked doing. I have a MineLab ETrac and SunRay Probe on order so I cant wait until they show up. The last few months I've been researching tax records and sent out permission packages for hunting private property. So far I have a 12 Acre, 120 Acre, 40 Acre, and, a 10 acre parcel of land that I've been given permission to hunt on, so I'll be busy for awhile...................Cheers

Hi and welcome to the forum! :)
Would you care to post or PM me with more information about your permission packets? I would love to know exactly what you are doing to get permission. Congrats, it sounds like you have some great sites lined up, and definitely a great detector on the way!

Hey BlackZ51Vett, Welcome aboard. Those sites sound like they will be good for you and your new machine. There may even be some old (long gone) homes located on those larger parcels. Glad you found us and hope you will share some of your stories with us. Take care of that Vett, I used to have a '79. Love them cars!!! HH.

Welcome to the forum from southern Nevada.
I like your idea of searching tax records for permission research. Good idea, that!!! thumbsup01

The following is a package that I put together to send land owners. Feel free to use anything you find useful. I feel that some letters you'll find are giving the owners too much to think about. Such as, space for them to write down restrictions. Why? Dont give them a place in your letter to put down restrictions. Provide them with everything they need to make a decision YES or NO, sign/date and mail it back to you. Nothing else. If they already have restrictions in mind, dont worry, they'll let you know, but don't lead them somewhere they may never go.
Contents of my package:
(1) Introduction Letter
(2) Permission to Metal Detect Form
(3) Liability Form (dont get crazy here either...less is better)
(4) Map of Property (Some owners own mulitple parcels of land)
(5) Self Addressed, Stamped Envelope (Addressed back to you)
Like I said, provide them with everything they need so all they have to do is sign/date the permission form and mail it back to you. They dont even have to spend a cent !!!!

Welcome from Upstate NY thumbsup01. Were you lawyer in the Marines?? Some great stuff for asking strangers. I usually only ask people I know and people whom I've worked for in the past.
