Well, I was able to poke about again Friday after work. This time at a state roadside park that doesn't see quite the traffic it did before the highway was realigned in the '70s. Just the same, I did get a couple hours in, enough to add to my wonderful collection of bottle caps. Aren't you jealous? Notice how I didn't damage the carefully groomed rust patina?

I did manage to collect 23 cents in clad, a nice steely, and some more lead for a 'rainy' day!
As always, thanks for indulging me! At least this time I pulled coins out of the ground! :detecting:

If I recall correctly you are swinging the ace 350. I remember digging a ton of bottle caps when I had the 350. I learned to swing the coil over the target, then keep swinging back and forth while you move off the target. Coins/buttons just stop signaling as you move off center. Bottle caps give a low iron grunt before the signal goes away. Doesn't work so well in really trashy places as you can't move off the target without hitting other targets. Turning the sense down and/or use a smaller coil helped me in trash when I used that machine.
But ....those are some mighty fine bottle caps  ...not bent at all. :waving:

Great job of saving the bottle caps ;) Are you rejecting coins or what? lol Keep at it, sooner or later you have to stumble onto a coin. Hope you get a home site... the results will be way different!!
