I was out for a short hunt today and made a find which I think is a great find and a first for me. I found a three cent nickel piece! I cannot get a date on it, but we'll see as I clean it further. I also found a toasted IH and three wheat cents, 1916, 1919, 1950S.

You have joined a very exclusive club with that Three Cent Nickel!

Rarely found, they ring up so low that almost nobody digs them. They ring up as a 12-04 on the E-Trac which would typically be a small piece of aluminum foil.

Congrats on the amazing find, Darren! I hope you are able to get a date off of it.

Tim is right you dont see those listed very often. That is a scarce coin in terms of being dug up. Consider your self very lucky. :wow:

3 cent nickels are really hard to find. I have only found one and it did not read very good. Throw in some mineralized dirt and you may not even hear it at all. Check off another type coin from your list :clapping:
