Today I went back to the field that I got my last LC from and Rob got his CW token and 1879 IH.

Got 2 gold gilt flat buttons. Both have the shank and lots of gilt left on them. I have labeled the backmark in the picture.

The LC, which I am assuming is a LC. I have posted a picture of it next to another LC, looks to be the same size. I can't get any details off of it yet but the counterstamp looks to be ..... S. T - - - ANY. That's my best guess.

Would this coin be a candidate for a hot peroxide bath:huh::huh::huh:thinkingabout:?

Another coin for the signature.

Thanks for reading and HH

apparently I did not read the post carefully. It seems you already had the Matron and your new find is the counter stamp coin. 8/ so congratz on a copper and hope you get an ID on it

I can see the last three letters are ANY and the 2nd letter in from the left looks like a T

Todd,

I was going to ask you how you determined that the LC was a Matron. :dontknow:

I am in agreement with your views of the letters.
