From the land of the Bluenose.....up at the crack of dawn and met up with Navy Davy at the ":beerbuddy:utton Hole. He had arrived about a half hour earlier and was digging up a storm having found 6 buttons already. We had decided the previous evening to get an early start as we are still in the midst of the heat wave.
After another going over I left and tried the other side of the lowered lake as ND stayed put. Picked up some more golf eggs and a puck along with a few coins. Shortly thereafter out popped this button from the 81 Loyal Lincoln Regiment. Googled the button when home and fits the description of the 1812 issue cuff button. Not 100% sure and could use help on identifing it.

Was later joined by ND who luckily had the foresight to bring a jug of water. Navy Davy then put his finds on the picnic table. Man was he having a great button day!

Showed ND the area where I had found the 81st and headed home not wanting too push my knee any further.
Later in the day ND called and stated that after cleaning his buttons the best of the lot was the Royal Enginers. Know we will be a sad pair of diggers once this lake is refilled! Having gone through a bottle of Polysporin Itch relief and have that much of a bottle of Calamin Lotion I'm a thinking that a swish may not be in the cards today even in this heat! <;)
