Yesterday afternoon I joined midas to a local hunt. The site we worked was littered with iron which seemed to be the only available target at that location. We did still find a few odds and ends. I also picked up one Barber quarter.

Today I had intended to stay home and do some yard work, but the day was too beautiful to not take advantage of a few hours detecting. This afternoon I headed to CT to work one of the parks. The park was busy with folks playing sports or just enjoying their time out, but I was able to work one area without much disturbance, at least until late in the day when teens showed up with their ATV's and bikes. It was time to leave anyway and I had already made several nice finds.
My best find of the day was an old silver piece, a 1764 Spanish Reale.

Here it is while still encased in soil.

This was another good find, a dateless type I Standing Liberty quarter.

And here are photos of a 1923 mercury dime and 1940 Washington quarter as dug.

My total take for the day, eight silver coins.

I found this 1942 Republica De Bolivia fifty cent coin not too far from where I picked up the Standing Liberty quarter.

This WWII Army-Navy Production Award Pin is a cool find. I like that the safety clasp is still intact.

The wheat cents aren't in great shape, but I'll take them
