Yesterday was an off day for detecting. Besides the heat, I had to help a friend clean out her gutters... >{ Mike and I were on the field by 6am this morning. Most of it where we wanted to detect was already planted, so we had to go to another part that we've gone over before. No old coins besides the wheat but I found a pretty cool cuff button in almost perfect condition. It still has the full shank on the back. thumbsup01 The good thing about this field is if we don't get 18th century coins, we always come away with nice buttons.

I think this was the last hunt on the old farm till the fall. The good thing is we received permission to detect about 8 local old homes. Private properties that are sure to produce some oldies. Have a great Sunday!

very sweet little Navy button Steve , i'm having trouble matching the exact variety . can you see a backmark or maker's mark on the reverse??

The reverse has a makers mark but the cement like dirt is hard to get off. It'll take some time but I'll try to clean it off some.
Here's a pic of the field.

Steve , i'm going say if theres a maker's mark it should fall in the era between 1826 to maybe 1840 .
