Wow, found this in an area I have not hit hard because I have found very deep clad coins here. Yes, i was fortunate enough to find my 1/2 reale not 50 away, however, I have stayed away from this area. Well, at ~ 5 :shocked04: I found this spent King George...doubt I'll get a date off of it, but it still counts fellas.
Of course I will be nowhere near those in the contest, but nonetheless I am always happy to find the coppers.
Also dig this merc.....all of my dimes this year have been merc's so far.

Oh yeah, that one counts for sure. I have had sites like that, where I find clad deeper than some older coins. It's a good thing you decided to dig that target.

Nice copper! I bet that one was a surprise lol It's funny how depth really doesn't mean anything sometimes. You can never second guess it. I've found colonials at 2-3 and clads at 7  That Mercury is sweet too. I'd say the obverse is uncirculate or close to it. Look at all that detail. Nice hunt thumbsup01
yes King George III half penny , probably 1770's or 80's from the looks of it. very cool find great detail on the merc too. thumbsup01
