I was heading out to a Cellar Hole and was driving along and recognized a spot that I had done well at in the past... I didn't get much there in the last stop or two, but that was pre-CTX days...

So I decided to stop for 30 minutes to see if I left anything there...

I get out of the car and geared up...

Swing Swing Swing... 40-41 conductive @ 3... Hello Mr. Wheatie... hmmm...

Swing Swing Swing... 10-12 11-12 @ 3-4... Hello Mr. No Date Buffalo...

Swing Swing over Buffalo hole... 41-42 41-43 2 from the buffalo and 3 deeper... Hello Mr. 1900 Barber Dime...

I've been here for less that 5 minutes and I have three keepers...

Forget that pounded cellar hole... I'm staying here :-)

Over the next few hours I recovered 4 more wheat back pennies... I kept digging deep rusty nails at the trashy site... They sounded like any other decent deep iff signal...

I recovered a 1940 Merc towards the end of the hunt...

That CTX is killing it. Looks like all your old spots now have become new ones. :congrats: on getting those silvers and wheats. Love the Barbers... |:cheering:

I can't explain why, but Mercury Dimes dated 1940 rarely turn up for me. I have only found two of them in my lifetime out of hundreds of Mercs. :dontknow:

Way to revisit that old site with a new machine and a new mindset, Paul! You definitely proved that no site is ever hunted out!

Congrats on the silvers and other old coins! :clapping:
