Sunday's cellar hole finds

Revisited a cellar hole site with a buddy Sunday and managed a few goodies including a chape, large flat button and iron key. Pulled an 1837 Matron Head that cleaned up well. Was also excited to find a 1788 Vermont copper.

Good luck to all !

great largie Jeff , it ain't to often the look like that :smitten: and any site producing state coppers is a good one and deserves a few trips back. :congrats:

Very, very nice LC. Don't see them come of the ground like that to often. :congrats: on the VT copper, I'm still looking for my 1st state copper

Nice haul at any time of the year... but today?? It was zero degrees at our house this morning :frozen: congrats!

Indeed! That one is a real beauty! :loveit:

The 1788 Vermont copper is a terrific find as well!

Man, I am so jealous of you guys who get to find such incredible old coins! :envious:

Did I see you guys in the woods in Storrs near the college on Sunday? It musta been a pretty cold hunt.

Great finds!

Funny midas mentioned Storrs, I was on campus at UConn Friday and admiring all of the rock walls and fields on my trip there through CT. you guys have so many potential spots to hunt, makes this NYer very jealous.

Nope, wasn't us. Must have been some other knuckleheads. I don't recall it being too cold. If there is no wind, I really don't notice the cold when swinging a coil.

:perfect10: Really nice finds especially for WINTER hunting ! I've never seen a 1837 yet either . I have a 1836,1838 and a 1839 but not a 1837. Nice Copper also . How did you get through the frozen ground ?
Well at least Spring is around the corner hopefully we have a mild Month in March . I have my first site already in reach. I can't wait !
Congrats Again !
