View Full Version : 1907 indian and a lead soldier
ill post pics later but a question for you all, did thay make lead toy soldiers back in the 1700s ? coz although this soldier is in bad condition (legs missing and rifle over right shoulder gone apart from the butt section) it looks realy old , it still has paint on it ,a red coat with white sashes going across each shoulder and crossing in the middle.
sorry if this is a bit long winded.

Lee i believe they had lead toy figures that far back but it will be pretty difficult to pin down an era when it was made . hoping to see it soon .

in germany there were lead toys since the 1600's so, it could be old..... but the paint is still on it which makes me think its not that old

Lee, have you ever seen the movie, The Patriot with Mel Gibson and Heath Ledger. In that movie one of the sons gets shot and he had a bag of lead soldiers. Through out the movie Mel's character kept making musketballs by melting the lead soldiers. Can't wait to see the pictures.
