Heard it was going to be 50 degrees south of I-80 on Saturday so Earl, Marinedad and I packed up around 7:30 am and took off. <: Found a spot around 9 am so we stopped to do a digging test. The ground was just soft enough to dig a nice plug and do no damage so we dropped anchor and dressed for the hunt. Earl with his new CTX 3030 and Marinedad and I packing E-Tracs. Nothing but clad the first hour so I decided to work along the parking lot to see if I would get some better signals. After about 10 minutes I got a nice solid 12-45 at 7 inches. I flipped the plug and saw the silver rim glimmering in the morning sun. :bananadance: A 1962-D Rosie! Silver #7 for 2013! I filled the hole back in and as I stood up I got another 12-45 at 5 inches about a foot to the right of the other dig. :thinkingabout: Another Rosie? No it turned out to be a 4 inch piece of a silver chain. Looked like the lawnmower had got most of it. Anyway, I ended up with just the Rosie plus two Wheaties and 30 clad coins totaling $2.89. Not bad for January! If I get out in February it will be 24 months in a row that I have hunted. Not bad for Northern Illinois. Happy hunting to all! :beerbuddy:
