From around Christmas to New Years we got about 20 inches of snow, and it seemed like that was it for detecting until Spring. I had just gotten all my equipment cleaned and put away for the winter. And then things warmed up this past week and kept going right up into the high 50's on Saturday and the mid 60's today. The snow all melted away and the ground was not frozen underneath. So I got out on both days for a bit, had a nice time enjoying the winter thaw, and made some good finds. Total for the weekend was 95 coins worth $4.78 which includes a '44 Merc, and '48 Rosie, a '43 war nickel, 11 wheats, a 1940 Canadian penny, and a '41 Jefferson nickel. I also dug a ring stamped SILVER FILLED which is a first for me. My equipment is messy again but it was well worth it. Temps are supposed to drop back into the single digits by the end of the week so I suppose I'll clean it all up and put it away again. Here's hoping for another thaw or an early Spring.

Happy hunting!

Silver filled is also a first for me. Nice that you took advantage of the weather and decided to get your equipment dirty again. I almost cleaned mine but it was one of those chores that I kept putting on a back burner.

There was an article in the sunday paper today about the demise of the Canandian penny. Should we start keeping them?

:congrats: on your silvers.

The marking ESPO on the ring is from a Vintage jewelry maker. A collectible. Should fetch around $10 on Ebay.
