Yesterday Rob went to the library to do some research. Right off the bat I want to send a shout out to Rob, thank you.
Today we went to another town and were looking for 3 parks. The 1st on we found had some bare ground so we decided to stop and hunt. We got out of the car all excited and loaded with enthusiasm.
Took quite a while but I finally dug a wheat. About 30 min after that I had a hit but the VDI was really bouncing all over. It did hit in the silver range on a couple of swings so I decided to dig. When I dug the plug, I couldn't believe what I was looking at. I called Rob over, something I never do. On his walk over I pick the coin up and it was a 1853 Seated dime w/arrows. Having that in the keeper pouch we decided to stay a little longer.
About 10 min after the Seated I got myself a IH. Shortly after that another wheat. I decided to move over to another section of the park. This park is extremely small and some of it was still snow covered. In this new area I managed to dig up 2 more IH's and the Pontiac token. I don't think that I have ever gotten 3 IH's in one hunt.
The IH ended up being 1907(2) and a 1908.
The wheats ended up being 1911 and 1919.
Overall quite pleased with the 1st hunt of 2013, now lets see if the rest of the year will be as good.
Thanks for reading.
