Beautiful weather here in central Illinois today! High of 63, just right for metal detecting! Unfortunately I had to work today, but only until noon. So when the clock struck twelve I was off to the races!

I returned to the park that I hunted brielfy on Thanksgiving morning. That day I found 2 Indian Heads, 3 wheat cents, an old suspender buckle and some clad in about 45 minutes of hunting, so I knew there was a very good chance that there was more there!

Today I hunted the park for about 3 1/2 hours and I ended up finding 1 Indian Head, 11 Wheat Cents, 2 Barber Dimes, 2 Mercury Dimes and some clad and a few relics.

Here are today's finds:

And the keepers:

1896 Indian Head, 1911-S and 1914 Barber Dimes, 1941 and 1943 Mercury Dimes:

I guess this is a cufflink. It looks kind of old to me.

I really like this Girl Scouts badge. It is very solid and heavy. Looks to be an older one.

Thanks for looking and happy hunting! :beerbuddy:

Very nice Tony! Congrats on some very nice keepers! I got skunked working a cornfield today. I was hoping to maybe find a seated half! HH, Dave.

Looks like you were right about that park. Nice score on the silvers and your other keepers. The GS pin does look to be an old one. :congrats:

After doing a little research on the Kum-A-Part cufflink it appears that it is from the 1920s. It looks like it was once silver plated. Pretty neat.

Good 45 minute hunt! You couldn't hunt all of the open parks here in north Dallas in a day, much less 45 minutes, and find a quarter of that loot. Y'all are lucky. If it ain't private, it is pitiful. martin
