I drove down to southern Illinois by myself yesterday to my parents'. On the way I stopped at two different parks for a couple of quick hunts.
The first park is one that I have hunted many times, but I still managed to find a 1902 Barber Dime. That was the only coin I found at this park.
The second park was one I had never been to before, and I dug some interesting finds in a short amount of time. I will have to keep this park in mind for future hunts. I found 2 Indian Heads, 3 wheat cents, an old suspender buckle and some clad in about 45 minutes of hunting.
Here are the finds. Nothing too spectacular but it was fun anyway.

The Barber Dime has seen lots of circulation:

I wish the front of this 1884 Indian Head looked as good as the back!

This Indian Head was badly bent and really toasted. A few whacks with my dad's hammer straightened it out some. My dad then cleaned the coin on the wire wheel on his bench grinder. Not something I would normally do, but this coin was trashed anyway. I think the date is 1898. Probably not one for the calendar. lol

I liked this old suspender buckle. Peerless Brace it says on it.

Thanks for looking and happy hunting! :beerbuddy:
