Got out this am with Dave (Heavymetalnut) to a couple spots he had worked before and had some luck. We hiked up to the first hole and withing about 15-20 Mins I call Dave over to check a signal I had and it ended up being a KGII. Worked around that hole a little longer and ventured over near the barn and got another nice hit which turned out being the 1787 CT Copper. Also managed two Matron Heads by the hole one 1822 and the other it to worn on the front to pull a date. Hit a nice CT Civil War button by the first hole as well as part of a knee buckle, part of a shoe buckle and several other buttons. The next hole yielded what looks to be a 1738 KG II counterfeit. Dug a couple other buttons from that hole as well. Dave did well too managing a couple coppers and and nice NY civil war button. It always makes for a great day when everyone finds something. It was a great time out with Dave and hopefully we can do it again soon.

I don't recall those other two hunts being on this level. ::huh:: this hunt is  <: happydance02

Thanks Drew, it's one of my top hunts. Just fell short of my record for coppers in a day which was 5 1/2. That hunt I also pulled a 1748 reale, a flying eagle, a IH and a handful of buttons. In terms of colonial goodies it would be my second best day. Also it's tough to compare those hunts to the hill which was just madness.

WOW, what an amazing day! I have been waiting for this since Dave mentioned you had a great day! Congrats on the coppers!

The hill was good to you guys. Imagine the foot traffic that spot must have seen....then abruptly stopped.

It appears your Connecticut is a "Horned Bust" variety struck from an early state of the dies before the horn developed.
