On this past Wednesday a group of four of us made it out to several different sites. We started out at a park clearing which was a bit of a bust, then we headed over to a soybean field for some old homesite hunting and then went over to an old beach on a small lake where the low water revealed some nice finds.

The park clearing yielded two wheat cents.

The bean field yielded only a few coins, an 1843 1 Pfenning coin, a wheat cent and a few clad coins and also some great relics and buttons.

Then the old beach was the big winner with everyone scoring silver: a Merc, a 1927 SLQ, a 1948 Washington, a Rosie and a Franklin Half, plus a number of wheats.

The day was capped off with some great company, food and beverage at a local watering hole, what a day!

Here are pictures of what I have pictures of so far.

Now that is what I think this hobby is all about. Sure the finds are nice, but to top it off with friends, some drink and food, can't get any better. :congrats: on your hunt
