Looking to get into this hobby and looking at Teknetics Delta 4000 11 DD and Garret Ace 350. Need some reviews on them. Both have a 11 DD. Pro's & Cons.

I just bought a Delta last month for my daughter (and back up for me |:cheering: ). I haven't used it much other than to help out my kid. What I do like about it; 1. very light 2. pretty accurate up to six inches 3. I like the tone ID vs. the dongs on the Ace. 4. pinpoint is spot on!. For a low cost detector I think the Delta is a great buy.

I really want depth about 8 or greater. any really great metal detectors below $400? I want to have pinpoint as a feature.

You could probably get 8 with the 11 coil. I was using the stock 8.

Might look into the Teknetics gamma 6000 with 11 DD coil + the 13 coil . That is another option.

Hi Robert!
Teknetics Delta is a good choice to begin with... First machine I used was a Bounty Hunter Discovery 1100 that I exchanged for a Discovery 2200. I finally brought it back to the store when I found my Fisher F5 on eBay... I aquire this almost new F5 for less then 350$...
You may find, even on this forum in the clasifieds, a very good machine for almost the same budget. Take a look at Spike's Garrett At Pro... He's asking 450$ + shipping... It was on my wish list, but I'm canadian and I may have some issue with the customs... That's why I didn't grab it ;)

I used a 350, now use the T2 (looks similar to delta).... The 350 is just too front heavy, and its possible the delta performs better :dontknow:
