Hit the sidewalks again today for a short hunt. Four more wheats, trash and this stuff pictured below. This button is huge! Can anyone give me an estimated age on it?

You and your machine have been busy lately... :peace: You are bound for a big one soon. :->

I'm certainly not a button expert, but I would guess it to be around WWII. :dontknow: Perhaps a bit earlier.
Dan will give you some good info soon.

Congrats Darren.

The button bears the Great Seal which was used starting in 1901. Your button appears to be from the WWI to about 1930 era. Just my guess based on some quick Googling, Dan will provide more accurate information I'm sure.

Cool finds! thumbsup01

hey Darren , your large coat button is the first design for this type . you can tell because it has no pressed outer rim like most found and would make it from 1902 to maybe 1908 . a very nice example :smitten: and congrats .

I did a little googling of C. Kenyon Co.

It appears that they were a large mfg of raincoats for WWI uniforms...among other stuff.

There's a pretty good sample of what may be your button about half-way down this link:

Thank you for posting this button. I don't think that I have seen one as early as yours and thanks to Del for the info.

Thanks Dan! It's nice to get such a specific date range. That falls in line with lots of other relics and coins found in this area.
