From the land of the Bluenose.....I did not cry but out came a filibuster of profanity as the specialist slowly eased the long needle under my kneecap. I had my knuckle in my mouth to bite down on and once removed a clear imprint of teeth was evident. How many Hail Marys I would have to recite to appease the ":beerbuddy:ig Guy after spewing his name out in vain I do not know.
Doctor Stalker had said to put ice on the knee after the cortisone shot and I asked if going into the water would be just as good. Had his blessing so off to the lake we did go. We you say! Marie accompanied this wimp to the doctors office for support.
The lake was inviting and not too busy and I soon had a few coins, a few earrings and then out popped this puppy.

We then went home and within 2 minutes one of her sisters phoned and she was out the door. Home alone! What the halibut. Limped out to Otto and drove to another lake and wandered into a used dinky lot. Hit a coin spill at waist level in the water and was amazed to see 5 coins in my sieve....two Canuck pennies from the 40's and three Yank Wheaties dated 1953D, 1945 and 1951. Think some kid had raided his parents jar full of pennies that may have been a stash for playing rumoli.

On the serious side did remove one nasty fishing lure from the swimming area. Pigs...............found one too floating by (lower right of the photo.)
Woke up Saturday and felt like a mule had kicked me in the knee. Two Advil and 2 Tylenol with codine were popped and out I went to the lake that is lowered. Here I ran into a fellow named Junior who was swinging a Bounty Hunter. He stated that he had limited success and then I explained that every detectorist and his dog had been here already including this old bouy.

After a pleasant chat and a few coins I headed out to the other swimming spot on the lake and was approached by a worker on the dam who said that the lake was not going to be lowered any further.

Dug a few coins and headed out again as crawling over the rocky bottom was hurting the knee. At a playing field dug up a first for this bouy....a refs whistle. A few more coins and groans and I'd had enough.
