Hi all. Welp, headed over to Kemper Military School grounds this morning before going in to work, and finally found my first silver :happydance01: <: A Standing Liberty Quarter lying on top of the ground :dontknow: The date was worn off, but these were minted between 1916-1930. Found another school medallion and some clad, oh yea, my first Hot Wheel too :peace: Good hunting to ya all, thumbsup01 Eric

I love Standing Liberty Quarters! :smitten:
Literally on top of the ground? You could see it without digging? How weird!

Wow! :shocked04: What a fantastic first silver coin to find. :happydance01: Congratulation buck57.
I've been detecting since fall of 2009 and dug over 400 silver coins... but just one Standing Liberty quarter. They are a hard
one to come by... especially for me. crying01
It's a beauty, even better you found it on the surface. Gotta be more goodies hiding in the ground there. :->

jkress---------400 silver :wow: that's unbelievable. Great hunting thumbsup01 From what I've been hearing, I guess these Standing Liberty's are rare.
POKIE73----------Yea, being a Standing Liberty and on top of the ground is pretty rare from what I hear.
aloldstuff----------I wish I had to dig my first silver, but you are right, there is no chance of gouging it if it's lying there looking at ya.
starman2-----------Thanks for welcoming me to the silver club. I'm not only hooked, I'm addicted :shocked04:
Cody------Yea, deffinitly one that will always stick in your detecting memories.
milco-------Thanks, Standing Liberty is nice for a first.

Congratulations on the find. :cheering: :cheering: In Iowa I find about five or six silver dimes for every silver quarter. And I found a 1913 barber dime right on the surface once, so it does happen.
