Reale or not?

So this morning Mike and I got out for a little detecting. There was a barn sale a few towns away that I wanted to stop off at first. We get there and we were talking to the guy who runs it and find out he goes to storage unit auctions. The barn is on old property and we start talking about detecting and get permission to detect it. Another winter spot! He says he has a bag of foreign coins hes been collecting from storage units over the years. He goes to his truck, gets the bag and dumps it on the table. Mike and I are looking through the coins and I spot this 1723 Reale. I toss it back in the pile. I took the pile of coins and 5 new knives for $30. The knives alone are worth that. Turns out there are over 250 foreign coins, 100 amusement tokens, a few casino chips, 2 silver canadian dimes and the reale. The kicker is that he tells us he also has a bag of silver coins and paper money that he'll bring next weekend. He said he'll keep them in his truck and we'll get the first look at them.

Congratulations Steve , it looks like Lady Luck is smiling on you . I'd be curious to see what kind of Silver he has for you . I recently picked up some VERY interesting old foreign coins and some old American coins that I probably will never find with a detector .People are letting go of some good stuff out there . :cool: thumbsup01

The Spanish coin looks authentic to me. 1723 2 Reales from the Seville mint.

Can't beat that haul for $30!
