It's always a good time hunting with CtTodd in the group with plenty of good talk and good laughs. He opted out in joining Dave and I to our back up sites but he probably made the right choice. Besides I am sure he made the wifey happy by spending some quality time with her.

The hike to the back up sites was a treacherous one. I couldn't get a repeatable target for the life of me but, when I finally did, it turned up as a good one. an 1802 Draped bust and other than that, just 2 buttons, a suspender buckle and a couple of pewter spoons. The back up sites where very old and it's a shame they didn't produce more.

Yeah it looks like the hiking could have been slick with that ice. Nice looking DB though :thumbsup01:

Wow, I think it's fair to say that coin was dropped in 1802! Congrats on a great find. HH, Dave.

Congrats on the draped bust. Some of the photos (great looking as usual) show what looks like some dangerous walking.

I'm still waiting for my 1st draped bust. I'm quite hopeful that my new site will produce one.

That 1802 Draped Bust Large Cent is beautiful, Todd! Lots of detail left on it and a nice clear date.

Way to eek out a late season keeper! :clapping:

great find.

Nice looking photos too.

I'm willing to bet they walked more than a mile in those conditions. :lolsign: They usually do.
Todd, congrats on a super DB. Love those coins- maybe my favorite early US coin.

Thanks everyone. It was a ruff day with little to show but one keeper will always make it worth it
